Describing the ripple effect to my young daughters I actually uttered the real words, "I could live my whole life just going around and planting seeds..." If I could survive on Volunteer work alone, or if I could make a living by just doing volunteer 'work'...well, then it wouldn't be 'volunteer' work anymore. Kind of like Humility. If you tell everyone how humble you are, well...then you really aren't. So how do those folks that Do What They Love and Love What They Do..pay the bills?
If only the bills and money didn't matter. It is such a beautiful thing to sprinkle seeds of kindness.Simple acts of offering a smile or sharing joy.Sometimes you get immediate results and the other person smiles back, or turns around and offers joy to a random stranger. Those experiences are affirming and often cyclical, self perpetuating. Sometimes there may seem no obvious or visible outcome from that planting of seeds. But without a doubt any act of Good results in more Goodness, either internally or within the world around us. If not today, in time. The seeds will germinate and flourish, in beautiful bounty. How huge is that? Powerful!
Powerful to think that each one of us by a single simple act can change a day, a life, the world. We can choose to use this gift for right or wrong reasons and causes. Pure motives and authentic hearts help, keep us on the side of Truth,Light and Love. So I'll throw my offer out to the wind-"Will Work to Spread Good"-and believe that everything else is going to fall into place. In the mean time,I'll just keep plugging along quietly, lighting little candles, sending sparks, doing what I can do right now, right here to plant some seeds and harvest some Good! Peace
